Decay CalculatorThe halflives used in the calculation of decay were taken from the Radiochemical Manual (1998) ISBN 0-7058-1768-7 While every care has been taken to correctly evaluate decay over the specified period, using halflives and decay periods in appropriatly denominated units, REVISS does not make any guarantee or take any responsibiltiy for the precision of the calculated results. GO to calculator Plant Throughput CalculatorThis calculator evaluates a theoretical plant throughput based on the quantity calculus of: Absorbed Dose (kJ/kg) = Source Power (kJs-1)/Throughput (kgs-1) This evaluation takes no account of plant design efficiencies except by the inclusion of an efficiency factor F: Absorbed Dose (kJ/kg) = F(%) x Source Power (kJs-1)/Throughput (kgs-1) In this way it is possible for users to either assume an efficiency for their plant (typically 15 -20% for a gamma facility) and estimate the likely throughput for a given product density and dose OR knowing the throughput of their plant for a given product density and dose, to estimate the plant efficiency. REVISS does not make any guarantee or take any responsibility for the accuracy of the calculation. GO to calculator. |
